Mindful Movement for Strength & Stability

  • Willowbrook Health Center 4 Willowbrook Road Cromwell, CT, 06416 United States (map)

Move with confidence. Connect with your body.

This yoga class, based on the principles of yoga therapy, is designed for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological conditions who are looking for a gentle, adaptable movement practice.

Through mindful movement, breath awareness, and functional exercises, we explore practices that support balance, coordination, strength, mobility, body awareness, and confidence in everyday movement. Participants are encouraged to move at their own pace and discover ways to adapt movement to their individual needs and abilities.

Activities may include:

  • Gentle yoga and mindful movement

  • Balance and stability practices

  • Functional strength and mobility exercises

  • Breath awareness and breathing practices

  • Body awareness and mindful attention

  • Supported standing and seated movement

  • Practices that encourage coordination and confidence

  • Relaxation and restorative practices

Every movement can be adapted, with both seated and standing options available. No previous yoga experience is necessary.

You belong here.

This is a safe, welcoming, and supportive space where you are encouraged to explore, make choices, listen to your body, and participate in a way that feels right for you. There is no expectation to "keep up." The goal is to discover movement that feels accessible, empowering, and meaningful to you.

If you are unsure whether this class is a good fit for you, please contact Darlene before attending.
